Supporting Indie Bookstores

Fountain Bookstore, Richmond, VA.

As so many businesses continue to struggle from the economic effects of the pandemic, I urge you to buy from indie bookstores. Supporting local libraries is also important and helps readers, authors, and local communities immensely, but if you're able to and would prefer to buy your newest read, please consider shopping at a site such as Bookshop.org, which raises money for indies.

If audiobooks are your preference, I recommend Libro.fm, which also supports local bookstores.

Here are links to some of the indie bookstores that have been especially supportive of my books:

I also encourage you to read the Oprah Magazine article "125 Black-Owned Bookstores in America That Amplify the Best in Literature" by McKenzie Jean-Philippe for links to Black-owned bookstores across the U.S.

Happy reading!
