My Halloween-in-March Ghostly Giveaway!

The Halloween season doesn't arrive for seven more months, but that doesn't mean we can't start celebrating. I have advance copies of TWO upcoming ghostly reads sitting here beside me, so it seems to me that a Halloween-in-March giveaway is in order.

Here's what I have waiting for early trick-or-treaters:

One signed advance copy of my upcoming WWI-era ghost tale, The Uninvited.
Age range: Adult Fiction
What it's about: Twenty-five-year-old Ivy Rowan sees the ghosts of loved ones right before someone is about to die. When she enters into a relationship with a German immigrant—the brother of a man her family members killed in retaliation for her brother's death in the Great War—she grows fearful of the increasing number of spirits she witnesses.
What to expect: Jazz. Gin. Ghosts. Sex. Love. Mystery. Psychological horror.
 ~ Coming August 11, 2015, from HarperCollins ~

AND. . .

One advance copy of Lauren DeStefano's upcoming middle-grade ghost tale, A Curious Tale of the In-Between.
Age range: 8 to 12
What it's about: Pram Bellamy's lifelong best friend is a ghost named Felix. When a living boy who's also interested in the spirit world enters her life, Pram finds herself embarking upon an otherworldly journey involving a lady spirit medium who may or may not be a phony.
What to expect: Lovely prose. Peril. Spirits. Heartbreak. Hope. Friendship. A fictional world reminiscent of those of Roald Dahl and Neil Gaiman. I absolutely loved this book.
~ Coming September 1, 2015, from Bloomsbury ~

Little peeks inside the advance copies:
The first page of The Uninvited.
The title page of A Curious Tale of the In-Between.

The target audiences for these two books are vastly different: one's an adult novel; one's a middle-grade read. However, I'm combining these two 2015 ghost tales into one Halloween-in-March prize package that will likely appeal to my fans and Lauren's. I'll also throw in some of my brand-new swag.

You must be 13 years or older to enter. Open internationally.

My favorite one is probably last year's costume. I dressed up as Ace Ventura from the scene where he went to the mental hospital. Complete with crazy hair, 90s clothing, a big pink tutu, and carried around a football all night. So fun!

HI CAT! Firstly, I absolutely adored your book In the Shadow of Blackbirds. I am extremely keen to continue on with The Cure For Dreaming.

So, with this whole Halloween thing, about 7 years ago I dressed up as a corpse bride - not THE Corpse Bride because I don't have the eyelashes - just a normal corpse bride in killer heels. I thought it was pretty magnificent but I am slightly biased.

Hope you are having a magnificent day and please keep up with the epic writing :P

My favorite Halloween costume was when I dressed as a gypsy for a college party with my boyfriend (who is now my husband). It may not have been the most original costume, but it represents a great time in my history!

Oh goodness...that a tough question. I think my favorite costume was the grim reaper when I was like 12. My mom painted my face like a skeleton and it was pretty epic.

I can't wait for either of these books! Thank you for the chance to win!

One year my husband went as an old-school basketball player (tight super short shorts and all) and I went as "Goth" Brooks (Garth Brooks). Cowboy attire, guitar, and white face with black makeup. It was funny.

Best one ever was a full on flapper. ...looked amazing! I put a lot of sewing and hard work into that one. It'll always be my favorite!

My mom always made my Halloween costumes when I was a kid. My favorite was the Red Riding Hood costume.I was 2 years old. I don't remember anything but I have many photos and I was so cute. These photos are my favorite.

Thank you for the chance!!!

My favorite would have to be Raggedy Ann and my mom went as Andy. Me and my friend had been planning to do this for weeks and i had spent so much time making yarn wigs for it. At the last minute (i was sitting in my costume waiting for her) she backed out, so my mom dressed up and went out with me instead :)

My absolute favorite Halloween costume had to be the one time I went as Robin. You know, the superhero. I ended up having a lot of fun and posting a picture. Then one of my favorite comic writers reblogged it saying how much she loved my costume. So by far. A favorite costume.

When I was about 3 I went as Jess the Cat and my cousin was Postman Pat... it's probably just a British thing though. I have to say I did look cute as the cat, and I loved the tail. Completely unscary though!

Eeek! Perfect giveaway Cat :D Thank you so much. <3 Will be crossing all my fingers :) As you know, dying to read your new book. <3 And so so excited about Lauren's book too :D SO CUTE looking. Anyway. Hmm. Halloween. It isn't such a big deal here in Norway :\ but I remember that I used to dress up as a devil a lot of times when I was younger :)

Probably last years, because I went as a shadowhunter :)

I was about 12 and I had a whole body sleeper thing with purple stripes. I painted my face green and made my braids look like antenna. Then I speayed glitter everywhere. I called it an alien costume. I wish I still had those pjs.

I was never a huge fan of DRESSING UP on Halloween. I think my favorite "costume" I ever wore was in middle school, my mom got me this super cool Horton hears a Who hat that made me look like Horton with the pink fuzzy flower in his trunk. I may have spend just a little too much time moving my head around and watching that flower.

My favorite costume, wow, I don't know if I've actually worn a favorite yet. It's always just been something I liked but never the one that I couldn't wait to wear. I did enjoy my Robinhood costume though.

For some reason I don't have many memories of dressing up for Halloween. But I remember one Halloween when I was very young, my mom got me a Snow White costume and I do remember really loving dressing up as Snow White.

This is so fun, Cat! Thanks for the chance to win these :)

I had a lot of pretty fun costumes over the years but I remember one year when I was young my mom handmade me a seriously impressive (and wildly colourful) clown costume which I then complemented with a big, curly rainbow wig, face paint, and a round red nose. I had a lot of fun with that one!

I had a really awesome victorian era gown I wore to a Halloween themed wedding. It was so gorgeous!

My favorite was my homemade Lily Munster costume (complete with oversized bat necklace!)

Hey Cat :) Believe it or not, but until the last 2 or 3 years, people didn't actually celebrate Halloween here in Mauritius. It just wasn't a thing. Last year though, I decided that I would celebrate it just the same and had my first Halloween ever. I've yet to dress up though. I totally plan to do it this year and I really want to go as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, only in girl version.

My favorite Halloween costume was dressing up as a salsa dancer. I wore a beautiful dress and heels (I never wear heels because I have three boys to chase after), I used a lot more makeup than usual, smoky eyes and red lips. My sister did my hair in a cute updo and I had a red rose in my hair. It was a fun night!

I make a super cool witch costume out of garbage bags.

I didn't have a whole lot of creative costumes, but I went as a cowgirl one year, which was fun.

My favorite costume always will be my Hogwarts student costume. Not really creative but it was cool!

Sadly, we don't celebrate halloween where I live, so I have never worn a halloween costume. I have worn a costume once which I loved. I used to play ballet when I was little, and we had to made a costume for a show we were doing, so my mom made me the costume and I loved it. It was a clowns costume, with one side yellow and one side green and I loved it so much, I wore it even more than my princess dresses. One of my best memories :)

Not really my favorite but I remember it so clearly. My mom didn't get me a costume, so she made me wear a baby onesie that my older sister wore before.

It was 4 sizes too big, the soles were messed up and it was freezing outside. Safe to say, I did not have fun that Halloween.

My favorite Halloween costume was my Hermione costume that I put together with thrift store finds.

My favourite? My partner and I were Victorian Era Rogue and Wolverine... no one had a clue to our costumes, but it made sense to us!

One year (I must have bee 13) I was Morgaine from Mists of Avalon! No one got me, but it was still worth it - she's one of my favorite book characters.

Thank you so much for making this giveaway open international, Cat!!

I don't usually dress up for Halloween all that much, since we don't celebrate Halloween on this side of the pond, but I've loved dressing up as a witch!

Halloween in March? Hooray!

Best costume ever has to be when I was eight years old and went as a blueberry. My mom stuffed my costume (basically, a large blue bag with arm, head and leg holes) with pillows and found me some blue stockings and blue face paint. People asked if I was a smurf, but I didn't care.

I loved In the Shadow of Blackbirds and I'm totally going to suggest The Cure for Dreaming to my book club.

I've very rarely wore any Halloween costumes. Okay, I've only wore a Halloween costume once in my life when I was seven years old, a Disney princess costume. :P

I don't really do much when I dress up, but one year, I went as a gypsy. I had a really cool skirt that I got at a market and I had some other stuff at home that worked with it to make my look like a gypsy. :) It was fun!

A few years back I dressed up as a yellow m&m and I had so much fun except when I had to sit through classes in a costume. It was ridiculously hot in it and uncomfortable to sit in for hours. Oops.

I dressed up as Rin Tosaka from the anime Fate/Stay Night. That was actually the first and so far the only time I dressed up on Halloween and it was because it was mandatory office policy. I enjoy watching people in Halloween costumes more than dressing up, tbh.

Thanks so much to all of you for entering! I had so much fun reading about everyone's costumes and learning about Halloween in other countries. My own favorite costume was when my husband and I dressed as Morticia and Gomez Addams early on in our marriage.

I've picked a random winner and posted the name on the site. Thank you for your enthusiasm for these books!
